# App files

> This page is about FlutterFlow (the app builder you use by describing your app), not FlutterFlow Studio.

Download the .apk, .aab, and .ipa files of a version of your app from Files in Releases.

Download the files that FlutterFlow built for a [version](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/glossary#version) of your app: the Android app, the Google Play file, and the iPhone app. Only the newest successful build for each store keeps its files, so an earlier version has none after a newer build succeeds. Owners and developers can download a version's files.

## Download a file {#download-a-file}

A version's **Files** lists the files that you can download for that version. To download a file:

1. Open **Releases**.
2. In **Versions**, select the version.
3. At the top of the version, select **Options**, and then select **Files**.
4. In the **Files for** dialog, such as **Files for 0.1**, select **Download** next to the file that you want.

## Which file {#which-file}

Each row also shows the store's build identifier: the version code for Android files and the build number for the iPhone app.

| Row | File | What it's for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Android app** | `.apk` | Installing on an Android phone. Download it, and then open it on the phone. |
| **Google Play file** | `.aab` | Uploading in Play Console. |
| **iPhone app** | `.ipa` | Uploading with Apple's upload tools. To install your app on an iPhone, use TestFlight. |

## Link expiry {#link-lifetime}

A download link works for 1 hour. Each time you select **Download**, FlutterFlow gets a fresh link. If a saved link stops working, open **Files** and select **Download** again.

## Troubleshooting {#if-something-goes-wrong}

For problems with builds and files, see [Troubleshoot phone builds and store releases](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/troubleshoot-releases). To install a test build on a phone, see [Android test build](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/android-test-build) or [iPhone test build](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/iphone-test-build).
