# Ask for a change

> This page is about FlutterFlow (the app builder you use by describing your app), not FlutterFlow Studio.

URL: https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/ask-for-changes

Write requests that get the change you want: one change per thread, the screen named, a screenshot attached, and what must stay the same.

Write a request that the agent can act on: name one change, the screen it belongs on, and what must stay the same. Attach a screenshot if it helps.

## Write a request {#write-a-request}

A clear request names one change, where it belongs, and what to leave untouched:

1. Ask for one change per thread. Start a new thread for your next idea.
2. State the exact result you want, such as a color, a label, or what happens when someone taps a button.
3. Name the screen where the change belongs.
4. Optional: [Attach a screenshot](#show-a-screenshot) that shows what you mean.
5. State what to keep unchanged, such as other screens, an existing layout, or a label's wording.

For example:

> Example request: "On the Profile screen, make the Save button green and change its label to "Save changes". Keep the rest of the screen as it is, and don't change any other screen."

## Attach a screenshot {#show-a-screenshot}

A screenshot points the agent to the exact screen or element you mean. To attach one, click **Attach files** in the message box, or paste the image into the message box.

Each message accepts up to 6 files, up to 4 MB in total. See [Attachments](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/attachments).

To capture the preview, click **Save a screenshot** in the preview's toolbar. FlutterFlow downloads a PNG file that you can attach.

## Long threads {#start-a-new-thread}

A long thread uses more of your [allowance](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/glossary#teammates-plans-and-allowance) because the agent rereads the entire thread on each reply. After you push a long thread, a **Suggestion** card appears above the message box: **Start what’s next in a new thread**.

<Mock name="long-thread-suggestion" alt="A Suggestion card above the message box after a push, Start what’s next in a new thread, with Start a new thread and Not now." />

Choose how to continue:

- To continue in a fresh thread, click **Start a new thread**. Your app already includes everything you just pushed, and any draft text in the message box moves to the new thread.
- To stay in the current thread, click **Not now**.

## Troubleshooting {#if-something-goes-wrong}

- See [Troubleshoot threads and the agent](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/troubleshoot-threads).
