# Backend activity

> This page is about FlutterFlow (the app builder you use by describing your app), not FlutterFlow Studio.

URL: https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/backend-activity

Use Backend › Activity to see the changes pushed to your app's backend, the threads that are still changing it, and what each change touches.

Use **Backend › Activity** to see every change to your backend's setup, the threads that are still changing it, and what each change touches.

A thread changes the backend in its own copy of your app, so nothing changes for the people who use your app until you push it. For more about the backend, see [How the backend works](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/backend).

## Recent changes {#see-recent-pushed-changes}

The **Recent pushed changes** list in **Activity** shows, newest first, every change to your backend's setup that reached your app, such as changes to tables, sign-in, folders, secrets, and starter data. It doesn't list changes to the records in your tables.

1. Open **Backend** and select **Activity**.
2. Under **Recent pushed changes**, read the rows. Each row names the change and the places that it touched, then who pushed it and on which day.
3. To see older changes, select **Show older**.

A secret that you add, replace, or remove in **Secrets** also has a row, labeled **Secrets**. These rows appear only for teammates whose role can see **Secrets**.

## Unpushed changes {#see-threads-with-changes}

The **Current threads with changes (not pushed)** list in **Activity** shows the open threads whose backend changes aren't in your app yet.

Each row names the thread and the places it changes, then who started the thread and the day of its last change. While a thread's changes are on their way into your app, its row shows **Pushing** beside the title.

## Open a change {#open-a-change}

A change's page shows what one change does to your backend, place by place.

1. In **Activity**, select a row in either list.
2. Read the status beside the change's name:

 | Status | What it means |
 |---|---|
 | **Not pushed** | The change is still only in its thread. |
 | **Pushing** | The thread is being pushed, and the change is on its way into your app. |
 | **In your app** | The change was pushed and is in your app. |

3. Read each section of the page. Each section covers one thing that the change touches, such as a table, sign-in, a folder, secrets, or starter data. On a thing that already exists, each line shows a label for what happened to it: **New**, **Changed**, or **Removed**. The lines of a thing that the change adds have no label. For a way to sign in, the line shows **On** or **Off**.
4. To go to the thing in **Backend**, select **View table** or **View** beside its section's heading.
5. For a change from a thread, select **Open thread** to go to the thread.

For a thread's changes from inside the thread, see [See what changed](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/what-changed).

## Changes by table {#changing-in-a-thread}

When an open thread changes a table, **People**, or **Files**, a line under that place's heading in **Backend** says so before anything is pushed. For example: "Changing in Thread 2 · 3 fields · View change".

- When one thread changes the place, select **View change** to open its change page.
- When two threads change it, select either thread's name to open its change, or select **View changes** to open **Activity**.
- When three or more threads change it, select **See Activity**.

In the **Backend** menu, a dot also marks each place that an open thread is changing.

## Troubleshooting {#if-something-goes-wrong}

- To push a thread's changes, see [Push](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/push).
