# Manage connections

> This page is about FlutterFlow (the app builder you use by describing your app), not FlutterFlow Studio.

URL: https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/manage-connections

Replace a connected service's key, use a saved connection again, disconnect or rename a connection, and manage store accounts from Account › App stores.

Keep your app's [connections](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/glossary#backend-and-data) up to date: give a service a new key, use a saved connection again, or disconnect a service that you no longer need.

## Connection status {#status}

**Project Settings › Connections** shows the services connected to your app as cards under **Connected**. The services that you can add are grouped after them.

A chip on each connected service's card shows the service's state in your app. The chips include the following:

- **Needs reconnecting**: the service's sign-in stopped working. Click **Reconnect** to sign in again. See [A service shows Needs reconnecting](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/troubleshoot-connections#needs-reconnecting).
- **Used by your app**: your app includes the service, and its setup is filled in.
- **Used by your app · test values**: your app includes the service, but it still uses test values for some of its setup.
- **Connected**: the service is connected, but your app doesn't use it yet.

To see which account a service is connected as, click **Options** on its card and select **Settings**. The service's page lists its accounts, each with a line such as **Connected as Ledger test account**.

## Replace a key {#replace-key}

If you connected a service with a key, you can give it a new key, for example after you change the key in the service's dashboard. To replace the key, follow these steps:

1. Open **Project Settings › Connections**.
2. On the service's card, click **Options** and select **Replace key**.
3. In **Replace the key for** the connection's name, enter the new key's values.
4. Click **Replace key**.

The service checks the new key before FlutterFlow saves it. The connection keeps its name, and your app uses the new key.

A service that you connected by signing in shows **Reconnect** instead of **Replace key**.

## Use a saved connection {#link-to-this-project}

When your app has a connection for a service that it doesn't use, turn on the service's switch in **Project Settings › Connections**. Your app uses that connection again.

When the agent needs the service in a thread, it can offer **Link to this project** too. See [Connect a service](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/connect-a-service).

## Reuse from another app {#reuse}

You can reuse a service connection whose key or sign-in you supplied in another app. When you turn on the service's switch, the dialog lists what you already have, such as **Use the key from Ledger** for a key or **Use the one from Ledger** for a sign-in. Select one. To connect a different account, select one of the ways under **Or connect another**.

For a service that you connect with a key, the service checks the key again, and this app gets its own copy. Replacing or disconnecting one copy doesn't change the other. For a service that you sign in to, you sign in again on the service's own page.

## Disconnect a service {#disconnect}

To disconnect a service from your app, follow these steps:

1. Open **Project Settings › Connections**.
2. On the service's card, click **Options** and select **Disconnect**.
3. In the confirmation dialog, click **Disconnect**.

You can also turn off the service's switch, and then confirm.

The connection stops working in your app and for the agent in your app's threads, and FlutterFlow no longer keeps its key. To use the service again, connect it again.

## Rename a connection {#rename}

To rename a connection, follow these steps:

1. In **Project Settings › Connections**, click **Options** on the service's card and select **Settings**.
2. In the service's list of accounts, click the account's **Options** and select **Rename**.
3. In **Name**, enter the new name.
4. Click **Save**.

## Your own accounts for chats {#account-connections}

**Account › Connections** lists your own accounts, which the agent uses as you in chats that you start, in any of your apps. To get there, open the account menu and select **Connections**.

The connections that your app uses are in its **Project Settings › Connections**.

## Store accounts {#store-accounts}

Your App Store and Google Play accounts are in **Account › App stores**. To get there, open the account menu and select **App stores**. If you're an owner of your account, a store account's **Options** menu has the following items:

- **Rename**: changes the store account's name.
- **Replace key**: replaces the store account's key. For Apple, use a key from the same Apple team, made in App Store Connect under **Users and Access › Integrations**. For Google Play, use a new JSON key of the same service account, from Google Cloud. Every app that uses the store account uses the new key. To save it, click **Use this key**.
- **Disconnect**: removes the store account from every app that uses it.

You choose which store account an app releases with in **Project Settings › App stores**. To stop an app from using a store account, select **None** for that store there, and then click **Stop using**. The store account stays for your other apps.

For how store accounts work and what disconnecting one affects, see [Store accounts](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/how-releasing-works#store-accounts).

## Troubleshooting {#if-something-goes-wrong}

- If the service refuses the new key, see [A service refuses your key](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/troubleshoot-connections#key-refused).
- If you see "Only a project owner can connect services", see [Troubleshoot connections](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/troubleshoot-connections#owner-required).
