# Out of allowance

> This page is about FlutterFlow (the app builder you use by describing your app), not FlutterFlow Studio.

URL: https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/out-of-allowance

What stops when your allowance for the agent's work is used up, how a turn wraps up, and how to keep building with a refill, a plan, or the reset.

When you use up your [allowance](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/glossary#allowance), you can keep building by refilling it, choosing or changing your plan, or waiting for it to reset.

## What stops {#what-stops}

When your allowance runs out, FlutterFlow saves your work, and the agent can't start new work for you (except as described in [Free first build](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/plans-and-allowance#free-build)):

- **Messages:** When you send a message, start a new thread, or answer the agent, FlutterFlow keeps your draft in the message box instead of sending it and opens a dialog with your options.
- **Pushes:** When you click **Push to your app**, FlutterFlow opens a dialog with your options instead of pushing. See [Push](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/push).
- **The notice:** A notice on the message box states that you used your allowance, when it resets, and what you can do.
- **The usage ring:** On a wide screen, the usage ring in the upper-right corner changes color, and its summary says **Allowance used**.

## How a turn wraps up {#wrap-up}

If your allowance runs out while the agent is in the middle of a turn, the turn doesn't stop right away. The agent gets a short wrap-up, which doesn't use your allowance. During the wrap-up, FlutterFlow tells the agent to start nothing new, to leave your app in a state that builds, and to end the turn with a short message that says what it finished and what's left.

If the wrap-up runs out before the turn ends, the turn stops, and the thread shows "This stopped when your usage ran out." See [the entry for that message](#usage-ran-out).

## Keep building {#keep-building}

To keep building after your allowance runs out:

1. In the thread, find the notice on the box where you write.
2. Click the button that the notice offers. Which button you see depends on your plan. On a wide screen, the notice shows:

   | Your plan | Button | What it opens |
   | --- | --- | --- |
   | **Free** | **Choose a plan** | The plan picker. To choose a plan, see [Change plan](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/change-plan). |
   | **Basic** | **Upgrade to Pro** | The plan picker, with **Pro** suggested. |
   | **Pro** or **Max**, with refills left this month | **Refill usage** | The **Refill your usage?** dialog. A refill adds a week of your plan's usage right away. For prices and limits, see [Refill allowance](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/refill). |
   | **Pro**, with all refills used this month | **Upgrade to Max** | The plan picker, with **Max** suggested. |
   | **Max**, with all refills used this month | None | Wait for the reset. See [Wait for the reset](#wait-for-reset). |
   | Any plan, after a payment didn't complete | **Complete payment** | A place to update your card. See [the entry for that notice](#payment-needs-attention). |

   The notice also has **View usage**, which opens **Plan & usage**.

3. Finish the refill or the plan change in the dialog that opens.
4. Send your message again, or click **Push to your app** again. If the agent's turn stopped, click **Try again** in the thread.

<Mock name="allowance-notice" alt="A notice over a thread's empty message box: You’ve used this month’s allowance. It resets November 14. Your work is saved. Refill it now to keep going, with View usage and Refill usage." />

## Wait for the reset {#wait-for-reset}

If you don't want to refill or change your plan, wait for your allowance to reset. The notice and **Plan & usage** show when it resets. On **Free**, your allowance resets every week. On **Basic**, **Pro**, and **Max**, it resets every month.

After the reset, send your message or push again. If a turn stopped when your allowance ran out, click **Try again** in the thread.

## "You’ve used this week’s allowance." {#used-this-weeks-allowance}

**What it means:** You used your weekly allowance on **Free**. FlutterFlow saved your work, and the notice shows when your allowance resets.

**Fix it:**

1. To keep building right away, click **Choose a plan**, and then choose a plan. See [Change plan](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/change-plan).
2. Otherwise, wait for your allowance to reset, and then send your message again.

## "You’ve used this month’s allowance." {#used-this-months-allowance}

**What it means:** You used your monthly allowance on **Basic**, **Pro**, or **Max**. FlutterFlow saved your work, and the notice shows when your allowance resets. On **Pro**, when you've also used all 4 refills this month, the notice says so.

**Fix it:**

1. Click the button that the notice offers:
   - On **Basic**, click **Upgrade to Pro**.
   - On **Pro** or **Max**, click **Refill usage**, and then confirm the refill. See [Refill allowance](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/refill).
   - On **Pro**, with all refills used, click **Upgrade to Max**.
2. Otherwise, wait for your allowance to reset, and then send your message again.

## "You’ve reached your usage limit." {#reached-your-usage-limit}

**What it means:** You used your allowance, and you can't buy more right now. For example, you're on **Max**, and you've used this month's allowance and all of its refills. FlutterFlow saved your work.

**Fix it:** Wait for your allowance to reset, and then send your message again. To see when it resets, click **View usage**.

## "Your payment needs attention." {#payment-needs-attention}

**What it means:** A payment for your plan didn't complete, so you're on **Free** until it does, and you used this week's **Free** allowance. Your bank might need you to confirm the payment, or you might need to use another card.

**Fix it:** On the notice, click **Complete payment**, and then update your card.

See [Troubleshoot your account and plan](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/troubleshoot-account).

## "This stopped when your usage ran out." {#usage-ran-out}

**What it means:** The agent's turn stopped because your allowance ran out. The same message appears if your allowance is paused. For a paused allowance, see [Troubleshoot your account and plan](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/troubleshoot-account).

**Fix it:**

1. Refill your allowance, change your plan, or wait for the reset. See [Keep building](#keep-building).
2. When you have allowance again, **Try again** appears in the thread. Click it.

## Troubleshooting {#if-something-goes-wrong}

- If a refill shows **Your card was declined**, click **Update card**, and then try the refill again.
- If your allowance is paused rather than used up, see [Troubleshoot your account and plan](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/troubleshoot-account).
- For problems with pushing, see [Troubleshoot pushing](https://docs.flutterflow.io/ffx/troubleshoot-push).
