iPhone test build
Prepare an iPhone test build of your app, upload it to TestFlight, and install it on your own iPhone.
You need an App ID and a connected Apple Developer account (see Connect App Store Connect). FlutterFlow builds from your app, not a thread, so push your changes first.
Prepare the iPhone app
Use the iPhone app row in On your phone to build your app and upload it to TestFlight:
- Open Releases and select On your phone.
- In the iPhone app row, select Prepare for TestFlight.
- Wait while the row shows Preparing app… and then Uploading to TestFlight….
- If the row shows Waiting for the app in App Store Connect, select Create app in App Store Connect to open the Releases step with the required details, and create the app in App Store Connect. See Add to App Store Connect.
Install the app
After the upload finishes, On your phone shows how to install the build through TestFlight:
- In App Store Connect, add yourself to a TestFlight testing group and assign this build. To open your app’s TestFlight page directly, select Manage TestFlight testers. See Add testers.
- On your iPhone, install TestFlight from the App Store (select Get TestFlight for iPhone for the link).
- On your iPhone, accept your testing invitation and install the app in TestFlight.
FlutterFlow builds your app for iPhone only, so the App Store requires no iPad screenshots.
Only an iPhone
Building an iPhone test build requires an Apple Developer account. Until you connect one, the iPhone app row says Connect your Apple Developer account to continue. Select iPhone app to connect your account.
Without an Apple Developer account, you can still open your app on your iPhone using a share link. On a computer, select Open Share in On your phone to copy your app’s link, and open it in Safari on your iPhone. See Open on a phone.
If you don’t use an Android phone, select I only have an iPhone so the On your phone step in Releases waits for your Apple Developer account instead of offering the Android build.
Ask the agent for the iPhone app
You can also ask the agent in a thread to build the iPhone app:
Example request
“Build the iPhone app so I can test it on my phone.”
The agent builds your app’s pushed state rather than the thread’s copy, so push the changes that you want in the build first. An iPhone app Version card tracks the build; select Open in Releases to view it in Releases, and then follow Install the app.
Troubleshooting
