Troubleshoot loading and reconnecting

Use this page when FlutterFlow can’t connect, when a page or section fails to load, or when a thread stops updating.

“Reconnecting to live updates…”

What it means: FlutterFlow’s live connection dropped, so the thread doesn’t update until it reconnects. This line appears under the composer while FlutterFlow reconnects automatically.

Fix it:

  • Wait for FlutterFlow to reconnect.

“Live updates stopped.”

What it means: FlutterFlow’s live connection ended and won’t reconnect automatically. To see the agent’s work since the connection ended, reload the page.

Fix it:

  • Click Reload in the message, or reload the page.

“Couldn’t reach FlutterFlow.”

What it means: Your browser couldn’t connect to FlutterFlow.

Fix it:

  1. Check your internet connection.
  2. Try again.

“We couldn’t confirm this went through.”

What it means: FlutterFlow timed out waiting for a response to your action, though the action might still have succeeded.

Fix it:

  1. Reload the page to check whether the action succeeded.
  2. If the action didn’t succeed, do it again.

“FlutterFlow isn’t responding right now.”

What it means: FlutterFlow’s servers couldn’t complete your request.

Fix it:

  • Wait a moment, and then try again.

“This page couldn’t load”

What it means: FlutterFlow couldn’t load this page, though the rest of FlutterFlow still works.

Fix it:

  1. Click Try again. If the page’s code failed to download, this reloads the page.
  2. If the message returns, check your internet connection and reload the page.

“Couldn’t open the workspace”

What it means: FlutterFlow couldn’t finish opening the page. The line under the heading states the cause. For example, “Couldn’t reach the sign-in service. Check your connection and try again.” means that FlutterFlow couldn’t reach the service that verifies your sign-in. You’re still signed in.

Fix it:

  1. Check your internet connection.
  2. Click Try again.

“Sign-in couldn’t load. Check your connection, then reload the page.”

What it means: Part of the sign-in page failed to download, so FlutterFlow can’t finish signing you in or creating your account.

Fix it:

  1. Check your internet connection.
  2. Reload the page and sign in again.

“Not found”

What it means: The address you opened belongs to one of your apps, but no page exists at that address. The page says “Nothing lives at this address in this project”.

Fix it:

  • Click Back to the overview to return to the app’s Overview.
The Not found page in an app: Nothing lives at this address in this project, and Back to the overview. The Not found page in an app: Nothing lives at this address in this project, and Back to the overview.

“Reload the page to try again.”

What it means: A feature that you opened, such as search or, on a phone, your account, couldn’t load. The message’s title names the feature, such as Couldn’t open search. This happens when FlutterFlow updates after you open the page or when your connection drops.

Fix it:

  • Click Reload in the message.

A part of a page says “Couldn’t load …” or “Couldn’t read …”

What it means: FlutterFlow couldn’t load one section of a page, so that section shows an error such as “Couldn’t load store status.” while the rest of the page still works.

Fix it:

  1. If the message shows a Try again or Retry button, click it.
  2. Otherwise, or if the message returns, check your internet connection and reload the page.

Two places handle loading errors differently:

  • The list of your apps: When the app switcher menu, or the Your apps sheet on a phone, shows Couldn’t load apps and “Reopen to try again”, close and reopen it.
  • Overview: When a section on your app’s Overview shows “Releases could not be read just now.”, “Usage could not be read”, or “The team could not be read”, reload the page.

⌘K doesn’t open the command palette

To open the command palette, press ⌘K on macOS or Control+K on other computers. On macOS, Control+K doesn’t open it. The shortcut doesn’t work in the following cases:

  • The agent is building the first version: Wait until the first version finishes.
  • A menu, dialog, or popover is open: Close it, and then press the shortcut again.
  • You’re composing text with an input method: Finish or cancel the text, and then press the shortcut again.

If FlutterFlow shows Couldn’t open search with “Reload the page to try again.”, click Reload.

Which browsers work

Some browsers can’t do every action in FlutterFlow. For example, a browser might not resize an image that you attach to a message. In that case, FlutterFlow says that the image “could not be resized in this browser.” If a sign-in message asks you to allow pop-ups or cookies and site data for FlutterFlow, allow them in your browser settings and try again.
